Mr. Çiftci was born in the Erciş District of Van on 06.07.1971.  After graduating from the Elementary School of Erciş Beyazıt, he completed his secondary and high school education at the Teacher Training High school of Alpaslan at the District of Muradiye. He received his associate’s degree from the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Letters of the Erzurum Ataturk University in the year 1991. He further received his B.A. degree in Law from the Faculty of Law in Ankara University in 1995. 

Launching his professional career as a freelance attorney, Mr. Çiftci started to work as a probationary judge and prosecutor at the Court of Erciş-Van. He subsequently served as Public Prosecutor of Derinkuyu-Nevşehir and Genç District of Bingöl between 1999 and 2003 and 2003 - 31.12.2003, respectively.  


While serving as the Mayor of Erciş-Van for 2 consecutive terms between 2004 and 2011, he was the regional head of the Union of Municipalities at Lake Van and Surrounding Areas between the years 2004 and 2011.  Mr. Çiftci was elected MP from the Province of Van at the general elections held on 12.06.2011 for the 26th Parliamentary Term.

Between 2012 and 2015, Mr. Fatih Çiftci also served as the Member of the Central Disciplinary Board of AK Party, Deputy Chairman of AK Party in charge of Local Administrations, Member of Constitutional Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Member of  the Parliamentary Commission for Security and Intelligence Commission,  Member of the Parliamentary Commission of Path to Social Peace and Investigation of the Terror Question and Member of the Parliamentary Commission for the Investigation of Illegal Wiretapping.  

Taking office as Deputy Minister of Customs and Trade on 04.01.2016, Mr. Çiftci is married with 2 children.
