ICPEN Spring Conference and High Level Meeting were Held in Berlin

ICPEN SPRING CONFERENCE AND HIGH LEVEL MEETING WERE HELD IN BERLIN
 
International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN) Annual High Level Meeting and Spring Conference were held on the 26-28th of April in Berlin under the Presidency of Germany 2016/2017.

Consumer protection authorities from over 60 countries had discussions under the theme of “Protecting Consumers in the Digital Age” during the event. Turkey as the next ICPEN President country for the term 2017/2018 was represented by the Ministry of Customs and Trade.

On behalf of the Ministry, Mr. Ramazan Ersoy, General Director of Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance, Mr. Mikayil Kılıç, Deputy General Director, Ms. Ece Özçalışkan and Mr. Murat Yaşar, Customs and Trade Experts participated in the meetings.  

Mr. Ersoy has presented the introductory video regarding the Presidency of Turkey 2017/2018 in High Level Meeting whereas Mr. Kılıç submitted the possible themes to be covered during the next Presidency term in the conference. Ms. Özçalışkan and Mr. Yaşar have made a presentation about the details of the themes and exchanged views with the participants during the conference.

ICPEN is an informal network of law enforcement agencies which was established in 1992. Its aim is to protect consumers' economic interests around the world and to prevent cross-border unfair commercial practices. Turkey will take over the Presidency starting from the 1st of July 2017 and become ICPEN President for the term 2017/2018. The autumn meeting will be held on the 13-16th of November 2017 in Antalya.
